Meet Dennis Comer

Dennis graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 1987 with a BS in Computer Science, minoring in Mathematics. Dennis also holds graduate degrees from the Florida Institute of Technology – MS in Operations Research/Systems Analysis; The George Washington University – MS in Professional Studies (Publishing); Embry-Riddle University – MS in Aeronautics and is currently a student at UCLA’s Anderson School Executive MBA Program (EMBA 2025). Dennis is a lifelong learner and uses every opportunity to learn a little more about himself, his community, and how he can best utilize his unique experiences and skill sets.

In running for the position of City Councilman District 10, Dennis looks to inspire the community to reclaim the power they hold. He looks to expand the vision of lifelong Angelenos and inspire them to look past the way it has always been and create how it will be from now on. Now is the time to look past the mentality of, “Where is he from” and “Who does he know” and focus on does he have the skill set to get the job done.

It is time to get career politicians out of these roles. It is time to stop electing people who are only using the position as a stepping stone to their next career move. Now is the time to look at candidates who have a depth and range of experiences at all levels of the government. Dennis Comer is trained to work selflessly for the good of the people and their desires. All great leaders are even better followers. All great leaders are last at the table. But most of all, all great leaders are great listeners. Dennis is now looking to listen to you in a way that you can be assured your calls will not go unanswered.

Dennis' Career Highlights

Retired Military Officer

With a distinguished military career that spanned two decades and encompasses three combat tours in the Army, my character exemplifies the values of discipline, leadership, honesty, integrity and unwavering dedication to a cause.

Current Federal Employee with DHS

As a current federal employee with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), our candidate has gained invaluable experience in security, preparedness, and crisis management – vital skills that can be harnessed for the benefit of District 10. Serving as an operational test director for the Transportation Security Administration, as the Explosive Detections Systems subject matter expert and lead research analyst, I protect the lives of the nations travelers.

Community Leader and Non-profit Executive Director

His commitment to uplifting underrepresented communities is evident in his current community service role as the Executive Director of a non-profit organization dedicated to BIPOC-owned small business economic development. Through this role, he has lead efforts and made tangible impacts on local economies and fostered opportunities for marginalized entrepreneurs.

Architect of Change

Dennis’ vision extends to urban development and social justice. He was instrumental in creating the process that led to the establishment of a Design Review Board in a historically redlined neighborhood, a testament to his dedication to rectifying historical injustices.

Active Board and Comission Member

His influence has extended to city governance. Dennis has been invited to participate in various Mayoral commissions and boards, including the Environmental Justice Committee, Green New Deal Board, and the Mayor’s committee on commercial affordability (City of Seattle). This highlights his capacity and capability to drive meaningful change at the policy level.

Just like Maxine Waters reclaimed “her time”, Dennis Comer is here to help you, reclaim your voice, your passion, and your resolve! It is well past time that we got rid of career politicians and political insiders. “The Age of Aquarius marks a thirst for change and a profound shift in the consciousness of humanity as we move from “me” to “we.” There will be new paradigms of how people can live together in peace and equality“. Now is the time to vote for strong leadership. Now is the time to vote for experience under adverse conditions. Now is the time to vote for Dennis Comer for City Councilman District 10.
